Dupa lungi rugaciuni si vise, poze spion blurate si informatii culese de pe enspe mii de siteuri, noul X1 se dezvaluie in toata splendoarea lui. Prezentat cu titlu de scoop (desi ma indoiesc profund) de carscoop, bmwblog si BMW-X1-4xbimmers, noul model se vrea alternativa premium la Kuga, CR-V sau RAV-4, fiind (cica) cu doar 11 mm mai scurt si cu 60 mai ingust decat un X3. Ca si acesta din urma, cel mai mic SUV BMW, ar fi bazat pe o platforma modificata a Seriei 3 si vine echipat cu celebrul sistem de tractiune integrala xdrive. Asadar, putem spune ca cifra 1 din numele masinii se refera doar la pozitionarea modelului in gama X si nu la vreo urma de rudenie directa cu cel mai frumos BMW, Seria 1, singurele asemanari cu superbitatea amintita fiind botul tesit (ca si la Seriile 7 si 5 GT) si widget-ul lateral dintre pasajele rotilor. La interior, nimic spectaculos. X1 pare un colaj minimalist BMW-X1-3intre X3 si X5. Volanul, schimbatorul (care nu este joystick-ul absolut adorabil) si partea superioara de la marele alb si consola centrala de la compact. All in all, interiorul se inscrie perfect in standardele impuse de gama X, desi o oarecare tusa de inventivitate, sau de nebunie stilistica ar fi fost mai mult decat welcomed, avand in vedere ca masina va fi model 2009 si poarta numele BMW.

X1 se va lansa in Europa odata cu Salonul Auto de la Frankfurt din septembrie si va avea sub capota o gama completa de motorizari, diesel si benzina… Din prima linie fac parte un 2 litri de 143 si 170 de cai putere si un 3 in linie de 265 armasari, in timp ce la pompa cu motorina se vor opri cele trei variante de putere ale unui propulsor de 2 litri: 143, 177 si 204. Motorizarea de 3 litri pe benzina ii va permite lui X1 sa atinga suta in 6.2 secunde, in timp ce mtorizarile diesel vor atinge un consum de doar 5.2 litri.

Global vorbind, X1 este un model mai mult decat interesant. Are de partea lui design-ul (fiind mult mai fresh si emancipat decat X3) si tehnica de exceptie. Preturile si listele de dotari nu sunt inca disponibile, insa daca BMW joaca corect aceasta carte, s-ar putea ca sotiile de X5 sa-si doreasca altceva decat X3 sau Q5.

UPDATE 2 iulie 2009 – Astazi au aparut si primele informatii oficiale legate de disponibilitate si motorizari. Asadar, X1 va fi vandut si in SUA, iar in Europa va fi vandut atat cu tractiune intregrala xDrive, cat si cu tractiune spate, sDrive. Aceasta din urma va fi dispoibila initial doar cu diesel-urile de 143 si 177 de cai.
